January 8 Pen Pals!

Since the founding of Raquette Lake Camps in 1916, “pen pals” have been our most cherished tradition for new campers. Beginning in early spring, usually by the end of March, “Pen Pals” are sent out to all new campers. Each camper will receive an email with the names, email addresses, and phone numbers of at least 3 pen pals, who are in the same age group at camp. Parents are encouraged to call each other to arrange get-togethers with their pen pals. There is nothing more exciting and comforting than a familiar face and getting to know other new campers! It also connects the children to have a friend to sit with on the bus to camp. Parents love pen pals since it eliminates most anxiety new campers have about their camp experience.
