Raquette Lake Camps is rich in tradition and with that being said there is an old belief that rain is good luck. The rain this morning certainly made us feel the luckiest knowing today we got to greet our campers at their summer home. Luckily the rain stopped just in time for their arrival! The smiles on their faces whether new camper or returning sure did brighten up the Raquette skies! We wait 10 months of the year for this day!
Speaking of traditions we kicked off our first camp family dinner on both sides of the lake with a delicious comfort meal of spaghetti and meatballs.
The boy campers were introduced to the “Aides” who are our oldest campers on boy camp. They lead many significant events on camp throughout the summer and also act as role models and mentors to our younger campers.
The girl campers danced the night away with a dance party in the dining hall. It was like they never left and for the girls who are joining us for the first time it seems like they have been here forever!
As much as you are missing them please know that Summer 2018 is going to be the BEST YET!
