Back at it like they never left…the day on boys camp was filled with activity around camp, and the annual swim test. It’s always so nice to observe the children picking up their friendships exactly where they left off last summer while including new friends into the mix. A special quality to have that will follow them throughout life.
Evening activity was the opening campfire and tonight’s theme was tradition. Eddie shared with the boys the history of the “lake” and the camp. The senior tribesmen spoke to the campers about the five virtues of the tribe and our Senior Group Leader, Robbie, introduced this year’s senior president. A very important role held by a camper that helps ensue a wonderful summer for all, and allows the campers to have a representative to help innovate for the future!
We recognized 5 year and 8 year campers, and 3 year, 20 year, and 35 year staff!
Of course any campfire would not be complete without the singing of our boys camp alma mater “The Spirit of Raquette”
