A Joyful Start To An Unforgettable Summer

The girls dove into the first full day of the season. With laughter each division explored their schedules, re-familiarized themselves with camp routines, and soaked up every minute of the warm Adirondack sunshine.

The entire camp gathered together for a tradition that marks the true beginning of summer 2025. The opening campfire.

With everyone dressed in blue and white the girls gathered in the Raquette playhouse. The SUPY girls lead the evening, setting the tone for the summer and reminding us all of the strength, grace, and unity that define our camp community.

We recognized our 5 and 8 year campers. These girls have grown up here, summer after summer and it is an honor to watch them continue to grow.

We then celebrated the many dedicated team members who make Raquette feel like a second home year after year. Staff were honored with jackets for their milestones of, 5, 8, 10, 15, and 20 years. The cheers were loud, and the hugs were tight.

And this summer brought a very special honor: we celebrated Kathi and Eddie Lapidus, who are marking 25 incredible years as the owners of Raquette Lake Camps. Their love for this place and the people in it has built a legacy that spans generations. Last night, their impact was felt in every clap, every smile, and every heartfelt thank-you shared by the camp family. They even received $25,000 Raquette Bucks!

Day One of Summer 2025 reminded us that while camp is filled with activities, laughter, and adventure, it’s the people and the moments like tonight that give it meaning.

Here’s to a summer of friendship, growth, and unforgettable memories.
