At Raquette Lake Boys Camp, we don’t just build strong campers—we build strong character. And yesterday, that character was on full display with two beloved camp traditions: Bunk of the Week and Camp Brothers.
Let’s start with Bunk of the Week, where boys compete for the ultimate honor for cleanliness! That’s right—our campers pulled out all the stops to prove just how tidy they can be. Beds were made with care. Floors were swept spotless. Cubbies were so organized, we could’ve sworn Marie Kondo paid a visit. And this week’s well-deserved winners were Cayuga and Rondaxe! Their teamwork and attention to detail made them stand out, and their counselors (and future college roommates!) couldn’t be prouder.
But the week wasn’t just about neat bunks—it was about deep bonds. Our Camp Brothers tradition, a long-standing highlight of the summer, brought together older and younger campers to form special, supportive relationships across age groups. These “brothers” ate dinner side by side, swapped stories, and laughed over plates of camp favorites.
After dinner, the fun continued with an epic scavenger hunt that had Camp Brothers dashing around camp together, solving clues, and working as a team. It was a night full of smiles, shared memories, and the kind of brotherhood that lasts far beyond summer.
At Raquette Lake, traditions like these remind us that camp is about more than fun—it’s about camp family, growth, and the little moments that shape who we are.
