Girls Camp Counselor Talent Show

The annual Counselor Talent Show was an unforgettable night filled with creativity, energy, and pure camp spirit! Each activity area brought something special to the stage, showcasing the incredible talent and enthusiasm of our staff. Here’s a look back at the incredible performances:

The Canoe staff kicked things off with a choreographed dance to “Timber” by Pitbull and Kesha. Their high-energy routine matched the beat of the song perfectly and had the crowd clapping along from start to finish.

The General counselors kept the momentum going with a wild dance to “Yeah Yeah Yeah.” With tons of jumping, laughing, and one counselor doing the worm across the stage, their performance was full of fun and pure camp joy.

A group of former campers turned counselors performed a nostalgic, original parody song set to Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night.” Their clever lyrics and heartfelt delivery reminded everyone of the magic of summers at Raquette Lake.

The Ski & Sail group wowed the crowd with a choreographed lip sync to a Pitch Perfect riff-off, complete with gymnastics moves, synchronized dancing, and high-energy clapping. They ended in unison with rocket kicks that brought down the house.

Tennis put on a hilarious skit based on Mario Tennis. One counselor dressed as a tennis ball moved back and forth across the stage while others danced like animated characters, with a referee keeping the game “in check.” They wrapped up with Nestos’ famous “Let’s get all the balls up!” chant.

In a creative twist, the horseback riding staff performed the classic Cotton-Eyed Joe dance—riding stick horses across the stage, much to the crowd’s delight.

The Swim team sang and danced to an original song about life at the waterfront, including a hilarious tribute to getting “blobbed by Gene.” Their enthusiasm and catchy tune had the entire audience cheering.

Team Sports brought a mix of soul and camp humor with a live vocal performance of “Piano Man” by Billy Joel, followed by a surprise transition into “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.” They nailed the iconic lift from Dirty Dancing, earning one of the biggest ovations of the night.

The Group Leaders lived up to their title as camp “moms” with an original song to the tune of “We Are Your Mothers.”Their performance was heartfelt, clever, and clearly beloved by the campers.

Gymnastics put on a show-stopping medley featuring Baby Shark, Barbie Girl, SpongeBob, Let It Go, and We’re All In This Together. Their choreography was tight, theatrical, and full of energy—an absolute crowd favorite.

In a unique and beautiful performance, a arts and ceramics counselor painted live on stage to classical music. Using staff as models, she created a self-portrait that was revealed at the end, earning a gasp and a roar of applause from the audience.

Kelvin – Assistant Head of Tennis, brought heart with his original song about life at Raquette Lake. His love for camp shone through and had everyone smiling.

Devon – Head of Dance performed a stunning, dramatic solo dance to a slow version of “Take Me Away.” Her expressive movements and emotional delivery made it a standout moment of the night.

Donnie, Nick & Blue wrapped up the show with a jazz-inspired dance to “The Joint Is Jumpin’.” Their Broadway-style number showcased sharp choreography, dazzling charisma, and a whole lot of camp flair.

It was a night to remember, and the talent, dedication, and humor shown by each activity group made it one of the highlights of the summer so far!
