Canoe Update & Challenge Night

This week at boys camp, our paddling program has been full of excitement and friendly competition. Campers have been practicing five key paddling strokes and putting them to the test on our course. Each group is being timed as they work to beat the current camp record — and the times just keep getting faster!

We’ve also added some extra fun with our canoe battleship game, which has been a big hit. In this game, campers work as a team to either flee from or attack other canoes. The campers in the middle of the boat are armed with buckets to dump water into opponents’ canoes, while those in the front and back focus on paddling and steering. The teamwork and strategy have been awesome to watch!

Looking ahead, we’re planning an exciting treasure hunt for the elective groups. With our three-day rotations, each day will bring campers closer to uncovering the final treasure. Can’t wait to see who finds it first!

For evening activity, it was Challenge Night, and the boys brought their best energy. The aides took on the frosh in a hilarious game of softball — but with one big twist: the aides had to play with their shoelaces tied together! Meanwhile, the sophomores and juniors faced off in an intense game of Touch the Fence, with everyone running, strategizing, and cheering each other on.

The Lower Sophs enjoyed a magical evening at the campfire with Eddie. They listened intetly as Eddie shared his legendary camp stories. The night was filled with laughter and spooky tales and of course S’mores.
