Celebrating the Good: Clipping & Bunk of the Week!

At camp, we love to celebrate the moments — big and small — that make our community feel warm, welcoming, and kind. Two of our favorite traditions that help us recognize and encourage those moments are Clipping and Bunk of the Week!

Clipping is a special way for campers and staff to see the good in each other. When you get “clipped,” it means someone noticed you doing something kind, courageous, or helpful — and wanted to let you know how much it mattered.

You might get clipped for:Including someone who felt left out, Being a great teammate, Helping without being asked, Showing kindness or bravery. When someone clips you, they’ll give you a clothespin with a word or phrase on it that explains what you did. It’s a small but meaningful way to say: we see you, and you’re awesome! And the best part? Anyone can clip someone else — you don’t have to be best buddies or even in the same bunk. Campers and staff alike can join in the fun of recognizing each other’s good deeds.

In addition to celebrating individuals, we also celebrate teams! Every week, one bunk earns the title of Bunk of the Week, a huge honor that highlights a group that has gone above and beyond to keep their space clean, work together, and show camp spirit. Last week, Raquette, ADK, and Spruce really impressed us with their teamwork and positivity! From keeping their cabins spotless to helping each other get ready for activities and cheering on their bunkmates, they showed what camp is all about. When a bunk wins, the whole camp cheers them on, and it’s a moment of pride for everyone in that cabin. These two traditions remind us of what makes camp so special: we lift each other up, notice the little things, and celebrate the good, in ourselves, in each other, and in our community.
