As the sun sets on another unforgettable summer at Raquette Lake, both Girls Camp and Boys Camp are buzzing with a mix of excitement and nostalgia. The final days are always a whirlwind — bunks get a deep clean, lost-and-found piles shrink, and campers put the finishing touches on heartfelt bus notes for friends and counselors. Every note is a small treasure, filled with inside jokes, shared memories, and promises to keep in touch until we’re all back at our summer home again.
While the packing and organizing set the stage for departure, the evenings have been all about celebrating the incredible summer we’ve had together. The Upper Juniors from both camps enjoyed a lively ice cream social.
The Seniors wrapped up their season in style with their much-anticipated banquet. This year’s theme, Van Gogh’s Starry Night, brought a magical glow to the room. Twinkling lights and swirling blues and golds set the scene for a night to remember. A delicious dinner was followed by decadent desserts, then hours of dancing with friends. The evening’s highlight was the video montage — a beautiful collection of moments from the summer, each image and clip sparking laughter, cheers, and even a few happy tears.
As we prepare for our goodbyes, there’s a shared understanding across both camps: these aren’t just farewells, they’re “see you next summers.” The friendships, the memories, and the spirit of Raquette Lake will carry us through the year ahead, until we return to do it all over again.
