Last night, the boys gathered together for one of the most meaningful traditions at Raquette Lake Boys Camp Opening Campfire.
As the sun began to set over Raquette Lake, campers and staff came together to officially kick off our 110th summer.
A highlight of the evening was recognizing the incredible dedication of our staff members celebrating milestone years at camp. We honored staff members who have devoted 15 and even 20 summers to Raquette Lake. Their commitment, passion, and love for camp help create the magic that our campers experience every day, and we are so grateful for all they do.
We also celebrated many of our returning campers as they received their 5-year and 8-year camper jackets. These jackets represent much more than years spent at camp—they symbolize friendships, memories, personal growth, and a deep connection to the Raquette family. Watching our campers proudly receive their jackets is always one of the most special moments of the summer.
Another special moment of the evening was hearing from our Aides President, who welcomed everyone and spoke about the importance of friendship, leadership, and making the most of every moment this summer. His words served as an inspiring reminder to both new and returning campers about what it means to be a leader and a member of the Raquette family.
Tara and Gregg then shared the rich history of Raquette Lake Camps, reminding everyone that they are part of something truly extraordinary.
