Girls Camp Opening Campfire!

One of the most special parts of camp is being part of something much bigger than ourselves. Last night, our campers had the opportunity to hear from Tara and Gregg as they shared the incredible history of camp and the traditions that have made this place so meaningful for generations.

Campers learned that while many things have changed over the decades, the heart of camp remains the same: friendship, community, personal growth, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

A highlight of the evening was recognizing the incredible dedication of our staff members celebrating milestone years at camp. We honored staff members who have devoted 10, 15, and even 20 summers to Raquette Lake. Their commitment, passion, and love for camp help create the magic that our campers experience every day, and we are so grateful for all they do.

We also celebrated many of our returning campers as they received their 5-year and 8-year camper jackets. These jackets represent much more than years spent at camp—they symbolize friendships, memories, personal growth, and a deep connection to the Raquette family. Watching our campers proudly receive their jackets is always one of the most special moments of the summer.

The SUPY girls led the songs beautifully! The theme of the campfire was sisterhood. It was truly an evening to remember looking over beautiful Raquette Lake!
