Today was an unforgettable day at Raquette Lake Camps as our campers stepped into the world of Legend of the Hidden Temple! The day began with campers being divided into four legendary Temple Teams: the Red Jaguars, Blue Barracudas, Green Monkeys, and Purple Parrots. Each team received their team colors, learned their chants, decorated their flags, and got ready for an action-packed day of challenges.
Throughout the day, each age group competed in a series of exciting Temple challenges designed to test teamwork, speed, strategy, and, of course, plenty of camp spirit. Campers took on Temple Ball Frenzy, where they raced around the bases while their teammates worked together to get all the balls safely back to the Temple Vault. In Sacred Chicken Rescue, campers had to navigate the course and rescue the Sacred Chicken while avoiding the Temple Guardians!
The competition continued with Temple Capture, as campers attempted to sneak onto the opposing team’s side and steal their Temple Relics. Teammates had to work together to rescue one another and safely bring their treasures home. Campers also took part in a Temple Relic Hunt, racing to find the hidden relics scattered throughout the camp and collecting only the treasures belonging to their team.
The day finished with the ultimate Final Temple Quest: the Bucket Brigade Up Supy Hill! All four teams formed long bucket brigades, passing water from camper to camper up the hill and working together to fill their team’s finish bucket. It was the perfect way to wrap up a day all about teamwork, friendship, and camp spirit.
After an incredible day of competition and adventure, the boys kept the energy going with Intercollegiates that evening. The girls enjoyed a relaxing movie night.
The Frosh boys had their own special evening around the campfire with Tara and Gregg, spending time together sharing stories, laughs, and enjoying the magic of a summer night at camp. The girls have one planned later this week.
