It was a very Freaky Friday at Raquette Lake! The kids came down to flagpole in the morning completely confused when they discovered that Girls Camp had Boys Camp staff lined up, while Boys Camp had Girls Camp staff! It was certainly a morning full of surprises, laughs, and a little bit of chaos.
Our directors also got in on the fun and spent the morning getting a taste of life on the opposite side of the lake. It was such a fun way to switch things up, see camp from a different perspective, and experience a little of what makes both sides of Raquette Lake so special!
If you heard shrieking and laughter echoing across camp today, that would be the boys taking on the Slip N’ Slide. Grass stains, soaked and soapy swimsuits, and ear-to-ear grins were the theme of the evening as boys raced down the slick tarp, belly-flopping their way into pure camp joy. Core summer memory.
The juniors headed over to girls camp for another much requested social and it was another night to remember!
And for our Senior campers, & CIT’s? Tonight was extra special. The guys hopped on the bus for a trip into Old Forge for an evening out at the historic Strand Theater — and let’s just say, this one’s going straight into the camp memory books. Between the popcorn, the big screen, and the chance to get off camp grounds with their best friends for a night, this is exactly the kind of experience these guys will be talking about long after summer ends. Don’t be surprised if your Senior camper comes home with a story they cannot wait to tell you.
