VANITY FAIR featured Raquette Lake Camps in an article today. Much of the story focuses on how families get here, but the point that stood out to us was their observation that camp feels like a “rustic bubble.”
Deep in the Adirondacks, on a pristine lake with almost nothing built along its shoreline, campers put away their devices and spend their days much as they have for generations.
This experience isn’t an accident.
The Adirondacks provide a majestic setting, but independent family ownership is how we have protected the camper’s experience since 1916. Every year our family makes intentional choices to preserve the things that make this place special. The Raquette Lake community is the heart of everything we do.
Families are welcome to arrive however they want. Some drive. Some fly. A century ago, campers rode the overnight train.
However your camper gets here, the experience waiting for them is the same.
Raquette Lake has never been about the journey to camp.
