Best summer camp for boys
Since 1916, Raquette Lake Boys Camp has defined the traditional boys sleepaway camp experience.
NY Boys Camp • Ages 6 to 15 • ACA Accredited • Family Owned & Operated • Brother/Sister Camp
Our immersive 7-week program (with a 4-week option for first time campers) is designed specifically for boys, offering a unique single-gender environment where they can build lifelong friendships, gain independence, and develop the confidence to become remarkable young adults.
As one of the oldest family-owned boys overnight camps in America, we pride ourselves on a “brother-sister” tradition that provides the benefits of an all-boys summer camp while allowing for structured social events with our sister camp across the lake.
New York’s All Boys Summer Camp
Outdoor adventures abound at our camp! Raquette Lake offers an unparalleled range of activities. From land sports like football, tennis, and basketball to our elite waterfront program featuring wakeboarding and sailing on one of the Adirondacks’ largest lakes, every day is an opportunity for growth.
Boys challenge themselves on one of the largest climbing and ropes course in the East and explore the wilderness during overnight canoe trips. Raquette Lake is the ultimate summer camp for boys seeking both tradition and adventure.
Paradise in the Adirondacks! Great kids, great staff, great caretakers—thank you RLBC for an amazing experience for parents, staff, and campers alike! — RLC Parent
Boys Are Never Bored at Raquette Lake Boys Camp
Raquette Lake offers a 7-week overnight camp experience, with a 4-week option for first time campers, designed to help boys fully settle in, build confidence, and feel at home in the Adirondacks. The length of the session is intentional — long enough for campers to move past the “new” phase and truly become part of camp life. Each day begins around 7:30am and winds down near 9:00pm, creating a steady, predictable rhythm that boys quickly come to rely on.
The hours in between are thoughtfully structured and anything but repetitive. Campers move through a familiar flow of hearty meals, engaging activities, time to recharge, and more opportunities to be active and challenged. Evenings often bring something unexpected—a special event, game, or shared experience that turns an ordinary day into a lasting memory. Life at our New York sleepaway camp is full, balanced, and intentionally designed to keep boys engaged from morning to night.
Our Program Grows with the Boys
A typical week at our boys overnight camp in the Adirondacks includes six full days on campus and one designated trip day. These trips give campers a chance to explore beyond camp, try something new, and build independence in a supported environment. As boys grow older and gain experience, their program evolves to include longer and more adventurous out-of-camp experiences.
This progression is a core part of the Raquette Lake approach. Each year builds on the last, giving boys more responsibility, greater challenges, and a deeper connection to camp. The result is a classic New York boys camp experience—structured, adventurous, and designed to help boys grow in confidence, independence, and character over the course of the summer.
