The girls left Raquette Lake at 7:45AM for their swim meet at Point O Pines. After a warm up in the lake the girls waited anxiously for their event to be called. All the girls did really great with many first and second place ribbons awarded! The day would not be complete without a stop at Stewart’s on the way back for the girls to get ice cream! It really hit the spot and the girls had a fun time and did an awesome job!
The girls have been busy at ceramics working on hanging planters and macrame. They are also starting to learn how to “throw on the wheel!” Embroidery has definitely been the hit of the summer and they have created some beautiful things for you…
Evening activity is 4 week sing practice! We are looking forward to the return of our Birchwood girls from Saranac, and we can’t wait to hear all about their trip at the campfire tonight.
Here is an update from our lower freshman group leader Liz:
The lower freshman girls have been super busy this summer. In addition to their fun filled days of activities, they have also been learning and practicing a dance routine for the past three weeks. This past Tuesday, down by the ski shed and in front of the entire camp, the girls strut their stuff in a matinee performance to the sound track of Glee harmonizing together to the tunes of Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend and Living in the Material World. They all did a fabulous job and their smiles stretched ear to ear! I am so proud of their effort and hard work!
