The weather today was incredible! The lakefront was pristine as the boys enjoyed all their favorite summer activities. Camp was in full swing as if the boys never left. All age groups took their swim tests at the waterfront which was the perfect place to be.
The AIDES, our oldest age group of boys who will lead the camp this summer did an AMAZING job at our traditional opening campfire. These boys will not only be mentors, and role models to our younger campers but they will help at each campfire to convey the philosophy and values of Raquette Lake Boys Camp. Our senior tribe which is compiled of former campers who are now part of our wonderful staff also spoke about our camp values and their experience as campers throughout the years. They told stories of their most fond memories at Raquette Lake Boys Camp.
We honored many of our campers with 3 year,5 year, and 8 year jackets! As for our staff, we honored 3 year, 10 year, 20 year, and could you believe it 30 year staff members! Between hearing the senior tribe speak and the jacket ceremony, it was clear to new and returning campers that this is what makes Raquette Lake Boys Camp a family!
