An update from Girls Camp Sail! Over the first half of camp the sailing activity has been a frenzy of activities. After all the campers (new and returning) completed their safety refreshers we moved onto capsizing and self rescue drills. This is to ensure the campers understand the processes should their boats capsize in heavier winds. The sailing counselors have practiced these drills rigorously on the fleet so they are prepped and ready to teach the campers these procedures. Each bunk was spilt into small groups and as a team purposely capsized their boat. They were then instructed on how to gather into a group on the water, where to position themselves around the boat, and then how to right the boat back over. Every bunk has passed these drills brilliantly and enjoyed them so much that they want to repeat them almost every sail period. The returning campers who are skilled sailing have been honing their skills in order to achieve their skippers. Multiple campers have gone on to achieve their Hobie Wave skippers and members of the upper Camp are now gearing up to take their skipper test on the larger boats within the fleet.

We had a fantastic evening of slip-sliding away down SUPY Hill on our giant slip-n-slide! The night was filled with endless fun and laughter as campers zoomed down the hill, enjoying the thrill and the cool splash. Afterward, the Lower Sophs gathered around a cozy campfire with Eddie. It was a perfect end to the evening, filled with stories, songs, and the warmth of the campfire.
